A Tabletop Worthy of Cheers!

It’s the time of year again where we’re eager to entertain. The sun is shining bright, the weather is perfectly warm, and everybody’s feeling refreshed. We know you’re thinking “bring on the backyard barbecues and pool parties!” So, we’ve got a few ideas of how to set the stage for a bright and impactful soiree that’s centered around every get-together’s highlight: your tabletop.

We’re all about a bold palette this season. Set your foundation with a solid tablecloth in your favorite color. Keep in mind, a good tablecloth is a staple for every entertainer so select one that you can imagine living in other areas of your home. Check out our sturdy Burlap Tablecloth that’s available in 6 versatile colors.

Why not throw down an additional layer of interest with a Get Geometric Tablecloth or maybe an Ombre Table Runner? These textiles are sure to catch your guests’ eye!

Now let’s bring in some texture. People typically pay a lot of attention to the color and design of their chargers. But we suggest a neutral option, like these Rattan Chargers, to introduce an organic texture to your tablescape. These chargers are perfect for any casual get-together and versatile enough to live on your everyday dining table.

While we love the idea of timeless white plates for every other occasion, your party deserves something fun and fitting for the season. We’re crazy about these Scallop Plates for so many reasons. For starters, these plates are the creation of our Head Designer, Marlene, who was inspired by a favorite watercolor. She chose blue because, “it works so well in many situations.” We couldn’t agree more! Additionally, these plates are lightweight melamine and dishwasher safe—making them perfect for any entertaining.

Polish off your tabletop with a couple brightly colored bouquets (we love hydrangeas) and maybe even a hurricane or two—and cheers!

Lofty textiles like pillows and throws create a cozy feel. Luxurious details like the metallic designs on these pillows and the finely woven cotton threads of the throw blanket add a rich sophistication.

A Party-Ready Bar Cart

The bar cart is quickly becoming a home décor must-have. You could spend hours browsing stylish bar carts on Pinterest—and believe us, we have! Functioning not only as a place to put your bar essentials—liquor bottles, mixers, wine opener, and tumblers—a bar cart also acts like shelving to display your favorite trinkets and treasures.

Put your liquor and wine bottles on the top shelf for easy access and pouring. A tray helps with cleaning up any spills and adds dimension to the look. Playful straws and drink stirrers are a cheap way to dress up your bar cart and your drinks—store them in a tall clear glass. Place extra mixers down below with accessories like a stack of books and a vase of flowers. Don’t forget to leave out a set of glasses so you’ll always be ready for impromptu parties!

Main Course: Fire up the grill! Serve hot dogs and hamburgers buffet style. Put out the usual condiments like ketchup, mustard and pickles, but don’t be afraid to get creative—avocados and hummus make great toppings too! Pasta salads, potato salads, fresh fruit, veggie dips, and chips make for yummy side dishes. If preparing it all seems overwhelming to you, ask your guests to each bring a side dish to share.

Dessert: These sweet treats already have us salivating. A tart Blueberry Ice Cream Pie will help you and your guests cool off after a hot summer day. Or a Mixed Berry Shortcake with vanilla ice cream is an equally tempting option.

Fiesta-Ready Recipes for Cinco De Mayo

¡Olé! It’s time for a Fiesta! Cinco de Mayo is on Monday and we decided to get a jump start on celebrating by mixing up a batch of our favorite Key Lime cookies. They’re easy to make and muy delicioso (very delicious)!

Key Lime Cookies for Cinco De Mayo

 1/2 cup butter or margarine

3/4 cup packed brown sugar

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

1 egg

2 1/3 cups buttermilk baking mix. like Bisquick (or substitute Gluten Free Bisquick for a Gluten Free Cookie!)

1 6 oz package of white chocolate chips

1 tablespoon freshly grated lime peel

In a mixing bowl, cream butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, vanilla and egg until well mixed.

Stir in buttermilk baking mix; blend well.

Mix in white chocolate chips and lime peel.

Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes, or until lightly browned. Cool for one minute and move to wire rack. Makes about 3 dozen cookies.

Bring these cookies to a Cinco de Mayo party or to work on Monday (we guarantee your office mates will love them!) or check out these other delicious looking and fiesta-ready recipes we found on Pinterest.
