A Patriotic Craft and Recipes for your 4th of July Celebration

Another holiday and you know what that means—another chance for us to share with you some of our favorite crafts and recipes! The festive craft we’re sharing with you today is a patriotic crown—a twist on the popular flower crown trend.

How To DIY: Patriotic Sequin Crown

Follow these easy steps to make your own!

1. Gather your supplies. For this DIY you will need flexible gold craft wire, wire cutters, a hot glue gun and red, white and blue sequins.

2. Start by wrapping the wire around your head to get an idea for the size of crown you will need. Cut the wire and bend into a circle, twisting at the ends to secure.

3. Use the hot glue gun to cover a section of the crown with glue. Dip that section of the crown into a bowl of sequins. Repeat this process, making your way around the wire, until the whole crown is covered.

4. Allow to set for a couple hours and remove any stray strings of glue. Your patriotic crown is ready for you to wear!

Now for the desserts—check out the recipes for these five patriotic treats. Red, white, and blue never looked so good!

Fourth of July Desserts

Patriotic Ice Cream Sandwiches: All we can say is “yum.”

Brownie and Fruit Kebabs: An easy dessert option for backyard BBQs and picnics.

Berry Patchwork Tart: Fresh berries are the key to making this decadent dessert just right.

American Flag Pie: Not much is more All-American than a homemade pie with flag-inspired crust and filling.

Fourth of July Layered Cupcakes:  Washi tape and toothpicks are used to make festive cupcake toppers.

Hi Donna, we had the great pleasure of taking this shot at a beautiful home in the Dallas area! The wallpaper is hand painted vintage chinoiserie from the 1930’s.
