Now, there are two colors that sound like they wouldn’t go together! But, like often in nature, seemingly unlike things can complement each other quite nicely.
Here at the Wisteria office, we have all these beautiful olive-colored ceramic containers that I had been wanting to do a floral story with and was just waiting for the inspiration. And then it came, orange! I love orange! So bright and cheery. Sweet but not too sweet. The easiest thing about these arrangements is that they only have one variety of flower for each arrangement. ANYONE can do this!
For the first arrangement, I mounded Royal Ambiance roses together in a low pot. The second arrangement I wanted to use orange tulips in a small mouthed container. It is important to strip the leaves off of tulips in order to get them to fit. I also clipped all the flowers at a diagonal and made sure I immediately put them in the water for a quick drink. For the last arrangement, I wanted something a little more masculine and sophisticated so I used two bunches of Eremerus. I love how it remains sculptural but still resembles fresh cut wildflowers.
All these arrangements, because they are in the same color family, would look lovely placed throughout the home, adding consistency and a splash of summer color around every corner of your house.
